After years poring over a keyboard, rewriting, rereading, giving up, starting again; you begin to wonder if it was all worthwhile.
Then a review appears from an eminant review site that not only justifies the graft, it delivers the reaction that I set out to receive.
If you are wondering what to read next, check out Juliet Butler's site... she provides a superb overview without giving away the plot..

Review
The Eagle Legacy is the first in a thrilling new series of books from Mark D Richardson featuring Jack Case. Jack is part of LARA (Land Air Reconnaissance Agency) a ghost agency called in in difficult circumstances, and is made up of ex military personnel from across the disniplines. When there are a couple of murders that look like professional hits in the quiet English town of Mittand Burrow, Jack is called in to investigate. Â A mysterious woman, a bank vault in Oxford are somehow at the centre of the rising body count and Jack finds himself taking on a group set on world domination. Â Fast paced with an intelligent and complex plot this is a thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
I find it hard to believe thatThe Eagle Legacy is Mark D Richardson’s first novel, as the plot and writing are so well executed. At over five hundred pages this is an epic and ambitious thriller that had me gripped throughout.  I love this type of thriller and if you are a fan of Scott Mariani’s Ben Hope series or Chris Kuzneski’s Payne and Jones series then this book is definitely for you.  The attention to detail is amazing in this book, the time spent drawing of full picture of the setting, the characters and the plot really brings this story to life.  The best thing about this was it didn’t distract in anyway from the plot like some other books, it all just blended together like a painting in the imagination so you could see the setting clearly and had an all round knowledge of all the characters.
As well as all the action, and twists and turns there are quite a few humorous and tongue in cheek moments.
The character of Jack Case is part of an independent ex-military team for hire to help with security and reconnaissance. He is the typical military type, strong, well built and with no fear. Â He is the perfect hero for this book and through the book his personality comes through, the tough man does have a softer side to him occasionally and a sense of humour. There is a variety of wonderful characters in this book, including a French police officer, Antoine Valois who smokes like a chimney and keeps a flask of wine with him which he drinks whilst driving and leading up to operations, American LARA operative Riggs who believes he is gods gift and is incredibly charming but also very sarcastic. Add to this the wonderfully quirky characters in Mittand Burrow and you have yourself the most brilliant cast to keep you entertained, and guessing to their involvement.
The Eagle Legacy is an absolutely brilliant read that I raced through. It has murder, mystery, thrills, explosions, secrets, lies, humour and plenty of action that combine to make this such an exciting read.  Mark Richardson’s research, detail and easy writing shine through and personally I can’t wait for the next book in the series. Move over  Ben Hope, there is a new hero in town.
